Overview

Position Summary:

The Deduction Analyst consists of performing financial functions according to general accounting and financial reporting methods and procedures within stated deadlines. The Deduction Analyst should be able to understand sales programs in order to follow through with customers resulting in a final resolution including issuance of credit memos if warranted. Additionally, the Analyst should be able to collaborate with company personnel, sales representatives and account managers to obtain needed backup documentation. The role of the Deductions Analyst will also include administrative duties in support of the sales team.

Key Activities:

  • Entering and monitors account deductions until final resolution
  • Assisting with the collection of overdue payments from a variety of business partners including distributors, brokers and retailers
  • Acting as liaison between customers, Accounts Receivables, Sales and other business units to achieve a timely resolution for AR issues
  • Tracking and monitoring all transactions and creating a deductions database
  • Contributing as a team member in department initiatives directed at continuous improvement
  • Implementing and supporting process changes
  • Entering credit memos into AR
  • Resolving any unapplied payments in a timely manner
  • Understanding internal systems and how to navigate customer portals
  • Solving problems independently and proactively
  • Bi weekly update to senior managers on status of aging deductions
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience with deductions for direct and distributor accounts
  • College degree in business, finance, or accounting preferred
  • Familiarity with customer deductions stemming from trade promotions, supply chain fees and marketing activities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information in understandable terms at all levels of the organization
  • Proven track record of successful problem-solving and negotiating
  • Positive attitude, professional manner and strong communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail
  • Track record of being highly customer focused
  • Highly organized with the ability to reach deadlines
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving record
