Job Description

Position Summary:

 

Sanitation Supervisor will be responsible for planning, organizing and working along side and supervising sanitation to ensure the facility is clean, food safe, while effectively supporting production operations.  

 

Key Activities:

 

  • Maintains the cleaning of all processing equipment and production work areas.
  • Create check lists, write SOPs, SSOPs, enforce GMPs, and ensure all federal and state regulations are met.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of the Sanitation Program for the variety of products produced in compliance with customer requirements and government regulations.
  • Manages and follows Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Implements, revises, and updates as necessary.
  • Develop and generate written reports and formal communications to ensure that work requests are satisfactorily completed.
  • Ensure general plant cleanliness and maintain the facility in audit-ready condition.
  • Formulate plans for improving the sanitation program; communicate with the QA and Production Manager for implementation review.
  • Inspects premises for unsanitary practices and conditions.
  • Confers with Quality and Production management on sanitation problems, and recommends changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and food safety.
  • Compiles required reports regarding regular sanitation inspections, deficiencies and steps taken to resolve deficiencies.
  • Ensures that all sanitation chemicals used are approved for the food industry.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.

 

Required Qualification:

 

  • Must have a  High School Diploma.
  • Minimum of 3 years of increasing responsibility in directing/supervising the sanitation function in the food processing.
  • Must have knowledge of chemical usage and handling for food processing sanitation.
  • Computer literacy in a Microsoft Office Suite software environment.
  • Experience in administering programs and policies required for HACCP certification.  
  • Strong and demonstrated sanitary food manufacturing practices.  SQF, NSF, AIB, HACCP, FDA/USDA a plus.
