Job Description

Position Summary:

 

Safety Coordinator will be responsible for creating organized efforts and procedures for identifying workplace hazards and reducing accidents and exposure to harmful situations and substances.            

 

Key Activities:

 

  • Plan and implement all Health and Safety programs.
  • Review existing policies and Procedures to make sure they are OSHA compliant.
  • Coordinate and help conduct all safety training in both English and Spanish.
  • Conduct risk assessments and daily safety walks.
  • Maintain all OSHA logs updated.
  • Accident investigation and documentation.
  • Enforce corrective actions and make sure all employees are following safety rules.
  • Maintains corporate safety library (e.g., videos, regulations, reference manuals).
  • Lead the Safety committee.
  • Work with management on implementing safety improvements.
  • Reduce accident incident rates.
  • Work with HR on new employee on-boarding for Safety.

 

Required Qualification:

 

  • BS/BA in safety science, engineering or industrial hygiene discipline preferred.
  • 2-5 years safety experience in a manufacturing environment preferably food.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA guidelines and practices.
  • Experience with writing policies and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
