Job Description

Position Summary:

Our role of Quality Control Manager will be responsible for leading and coordinating all activities of QA Technicians and Sanitation departments while providing technical guidance and support to production departments for continuous improvement of product processes and services for the company’s quality products. This position will be overseeing up to 10 on the Quality Team and report to the Plant Manager.

Key Activities:

  • Ensure quality systems are optimized to ensure ongoing product quality and product performance
  • Oversee all quality, food safety and Regulatory requirements
  • Perform analytical analysis of all quality data and present findings
  • Prepare, lead and oversee all HACCP / GMP / SQF audits and visits
  • Solicit feedback from FSQA and Ops teams to ensure quality programs are functional and what needs to be improved Lead customer audits or ensure resources are aligned to lead the audits
  • Ensures accuracy of labeling, packaging, raw materials and finished goods in compliance to customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal communication team to ensure quality message is delivered to Team Members
  • Provides inspection activity for product throughout production cycle
  • Lead organizational efforts to continuously improve Quality results
  • Prepare responses back to significant/complex customer quality concerns
  • Provide trouble-shooting support to plant FSQA teams
  • Lead collaboration efforts regarding product expectations
  • Based on attributes defined in specification, ensure checks are in place to comply
  • Communicate and troubleshoot with significant customers regarding any issues with meeting specifications
  • Review results from shelf life assessment program and coordinate resources to establish action items to address deviations
  • Collaborate with operations & FSQA team to establish quality targets/KPIs
  • Evaluate and ensure ongoing effectiveness of quality programs
Required Qualifications:
  • BS in Food Science or Quality or Chemistry
  • 5 years of quality control in a high-speed food manufacturer
  • AS in Food Science, Engineering. Chemistry or Nutrition and 9 years of experience
  • Solid experience with HACCP, SQF, Sanitation, Food Safety and Food Defense
  • Hands on manager with good communication skills and the ability to build a strong team
  • Overseen up to 10 team members
