Job Description

Position Summary:

The QA Manager will be responsible for leading and coordinating all activities of QA Technicians and Sanitation departments while providing technical guidance and support to production departments for continuous improvement of product processes and services for further processing of protein. Daily function in ground meat processing facility.

Key Activities:

  • Inspection of production floor including HACCP and quality checks are performed
  • Addressing all GMP violations with both production management and team members
  • Review of QA books: Pest Control, Hold, Receiving, Cure Log
  • Organize customer and retained sampling program
  • Oversee all USDA / HACCP / SSOP and lab functions
  • Train and develop all new and current QA technicians
  • Select products for testing, perform weight control checks, oversee micro sampling testing and conduct HACCP and quality checks and documentation
  • Holds monthly safety committee meetings and reviews all safety concerns
  • Audits the plant for compliance with USDA regulations and review for compliance with GMP’s
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or relevant discipline or equivalent related experience
  • 10 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment with experience in a USDA environment
  • HACCP certification and SQF knowledge
  • USDA and meat processing history strongly preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have supervisory and leadership skills
