Job Description

Position Summary:


QA Manager will be responsible for maintaining all food safety and quality programs including Good Manufacturing Practices, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Sanitary Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPS).  


Key Activities:


  • Maintain all records of all tests and inspections that have been conducted.
  • Conduct daily pre-operational sanitary standard operating procedures which include rapid ATPase testing and equipment product contact samples for microbial analyses.
  • Sample incoming raw material product samples for microbial testing.
  • Sample finished product samples for microbial testing.
  • Review all safety and quality policies.
  • Prepare facility and food safety records for third party audits including customer and global food safety programs such as SQF.
  • Review customer complaints and trace root causes of product complaints.
  • Review processing records to determine trends in product quality and safety.
  • Prepare product safety and quality reports to relay to owners and upper management.
  • Conduct training programs for plant employees to follow safety and quality programs


Required Qualification:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, or related scientific field or a minimum of 5 years experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Working knowledge of the food industry and food safety and quality programs such Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points, Good Manufacturing Practices and Sanitary Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Computer skills, such as Databases, Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel.
  • Proven effective management, communication and motivational skills.
  • HACCP, PCQI and SQF certificate preferred.
