Job Description

Position Summary:

QA and Sanitation Manager will be responsible for providing guidance and regulates the inspection and quality control procedures to purchased materials, in-process material, and finished products to assure that quality control standards are maintained.      
Key Activities:
  • Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures and Program instructions.
  • Directs employees engaged in testing product, tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
  • Supervises the time and production records as required.
  • Ensures product is processed to company HACCP/HARPC programs.
  • Informs Quality Assurance Management of ANY food safety issues.
  • Implements and Manages food safety corrective actions.
  • Prioritizes and performs position responsibilities accurately and to deadline.
  • Assists in carrying out changes to the food safety system of the facility; giving assistance in creating, reviewing, authenticating, and maintaining food safety system documents, including standard operating procedures (SOP's) and programs working in collaboration with the Quality Assurance team; aids in maintaining document registers and documentation.
  • Provides daily monitoring of QA technicians to ensure compliance to food safety system of the facility; performs or directs those performing formal audit on GMP.
  • Ensures training of facility employees on GMP's, Risk Preventive Controls, Hazard Analysis, Pre-requisite programs, and other applicable food safety system elements as required.
  • Oversees the collection and analysis of product samples as required, as well as document information derived from analysis.
  • Safely keeps records of all facility analytical results; immediately reporting results discovered to be out of specification to the QA Director.
  • Keeps documented reports of analytical results submitted to QA Director, also responsible for tracking and reporting data trends.
  • Responsible for QA Techs inspecting raw materials coming in; investigates non-conformance and complaints about product; and provides leadership for the facility team in performing self-audits.
  • Knows and understands the applicable FDA regulations and GMPs.
  • Help develop and implement strategic sanitation program, policies, plans and processes to ensure that sanitary performance meets the company standards as well as supports Food Safety requirements and complies with regulatory compliance goals.
  • Manages annual sanitation plan, budget forecast and performance.
  • Manage Sanitation chemical supply and inventory
  • Ensure that the plant is cleaned daily and ready to start production on time
  • Maintain a safe work environment by properly following and enforcing safety protocols such as LOTO, raising safety awareness for chemical handling and through equipment operation with proper training.
  • Ensure that the company food safety guidelines are implemented daily
  • Hire, train, and counsel the sanitation team.
  • Participate in audits, facility inspections and coordinate pre-operational inspection with relevant staff.
  • Clearly communicate expectations to sanitation employees.
Required Qualification:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or food related discipline.
  • Quality Assurance Certification in HAACP and SQF Practitioner.
  • Minimum 3 -5 years QA experience, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Extreme detail orientation and thoroughness.
  • Flexibility with work schedule to meet the needs of the operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skill with internal and external customers.
