Plant Superintendent- 2nd Shift near Philadelphia City area, PA will be responsible for or the safety, leadership and key driver performance of the supervisors and plant personnel assigned to producing, converting, or shipping departments on a designated shift. Also, responsible for directing and developing plant personnel to work safely and efficiently to produce high quality corrugated products while minimizing waste, protecting Company assets, and ensuring safety of all employees.
• Supervisory duties: - Direct the production supervisors in the performance of their duties and responsibilities - Ensure compliance to all policies, procedures and GMP's - Ensure compliance employee health and welfare - Appraising performance - Rewarding and disciplining employees - Ensure compliance to collective bargaining unit agreement - Coordinate the activities of production unit by proper control of staffing, preventing and correcting vacancies - Promote professional relationships - Manage conflict resolution - Training and developing hourly personnel & supervisors all skill levels - Direct maintenance department in preventative maintenance, planned shutdowns, clean-up and installation of new equipment. - Ensure housekeeping, safety waste, and production goals are met. • Production Duties: - Addressing quality complaints and resolving production and process problems - Monitoring/correcting HRMS, KIWI reporting - Drive crew concepts and Dual operator program - Maintain and improve Lean process - Prepare and submit appropriate pay rate slips - Manage daily, weekly projects - Manage maintaining and cleaning of Company assets - Hold regular crew meetings to ensure proper communication. - Maintain accurate inventories of all supplies - Ensure all maintenance work orders are entered and followed through completion - Work close with scheduler to ensure lineups are done logically to ensure a more efficient running shift. • Personal Competencies & Skills: - Organized - Attention to detail - Personable - Team oriented - Productive - Dependable - Proficient in KIWI, HRMS - Computer skills- Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Power point - Basic understanding of industrial mechanical and electrical systems - Has working knowledge of labor contract and plant rules. - Has a working knowledge of quality system to include: cost of quality, waste reduction, material quality standard, problem solving skills. - Has a working knowledge of environmental, health & safety to include: safety programs, safety rules, environmental programs - Has working knowledge of cost reduction and control for: crew planning, downtime, and training skills. - Has working knowledge of maintenance system, planning & scheduling, corrugator & converting operations, and shipping & transportation operators. - Has working knowledge of the labor contract - Has working knowledge of plant rules - Has knowledge of the industry. - Protects organization by keeping information confidential
Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
