Job Description

Position Summary:


Manager of Sustainability and Energy will be responsible for developing and driving Sustainability Strategy and vision objective of being carbon neutral by 2040.


Key Activities:


  • Develop, lead, and manage Sustainability Strategy towards a vision objective of being carbon neutral by 2040 through effective communication of goals, objectives, strategies, on-going performance, and other essential operating information.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of the carbon footprint and the environment impact from all aspects of the business and develop strategies for improvements that are aligned with the Sustainability Strategy.
  • Manage and report on Sustainability key performance indicators and metrics, while supporting Swire Sustainable Development Office (SDO) and John Swire & Sons (JS&S) requirements and act as the key contact with SDO.
  • Assist in the development of capital and operating budgets, necessary to support  Sustainability Strategy and vision objective.
  • Manage Company’s electricity procurement activities and initiatives and develop strategies for reduction of electricity utilization and cost.
  • Drive innovation through the evaluation and recommendation of new technologies, processes and policies necessary to support Sustainability Strategy.
  • Set and uphold high levels of operating and personal standards and continually develop individual and team capabilities.
  • Ensure timely and appropriate follow-up on all areas identified for development.
  • Take ownership for the development of business decisions and directives.
  • Work to strengthen internal and external customer relationships and to promote teamwork between all departments, regions and warehouses.


Required Qualification:


  • An Engineering, Science or Business degree from an accredited four year university with minimum of 5 years’ experience at a mid to senior management level.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate clearly, both written and orally.
  • Ability to think logically and strategically.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team orientated environment.
  • Ability to schedule own tasks and handle all facets of assigned work independently and with minimal supervision Organized and detail orientated.
  • Goal Driven,Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint Other Information.
